Hi there,
I have ordered online the MSI GTX 770 Gaming Edition that, compared to the reference 770, requires 2 8-pin connectors.
As of now, I only have 2 6-pin connectors and one 8-pin(6+2) connector for pci-e.
My question is, is it totally safe to use the included 6 to 8-pin adapter that comes in the package, for one of the power connectors(using my 6+2-pin connector and using the other 6 with the adapter). I don't plan on overclocking more the card now, maybe in the future but it wouldn't be hardcore overclock.
I'm wondering if that adapter may reduce the life of my device, or if there is a storm, any chance that my card gets a shortcut cause of this 6 to 8 pin adapter?
I'm using a 720W Enermax Infiniti power supply which is certified SLI/Crossfire. Model number EIN720AWT. I should be able to plug-in another 8-pin pci-e cable to it but since I think I don't have any with me and I'm not used to play much with what's connected inside my computer, I would only use the 6 to 8pin adapter if that's really fine.
Thank you very much for your expert help!
