MSI GTX 780 Lightning memory overclock?

Hello, I have an MSI GTX 780 Lightning, and last night I went into afterburner with kombuster open, I decided to conduct an experiment by increasing the memory clock by 1000MHZ, I only intended to leave it like this for a few seconds just to see the load and temps in kombuster, however my entire computer crashed when I upped the memory clock by 1000, what has happened?

you over clocked it by 4000mhz if you moved the slider to 1000 to get a 1000 mhz over clock set it to 250

So I overclocked it by 4000mhz, why did my computer crash, like I said i was intending to leave it their only for a few seconds, why did my computer crash?

it happens anytime the display adapter messes up it can take the system out with it

So was the card damaged, and I also heard that MSI cards shut off if the overclock is to dangerous, is this true and was the card damaged?

if it was damaged you will know if it starts artifacting but if not i wouldnt be worried because yes companies do put safeguards in to stop things like that
