Hi I am wondering if anyone can help me determine if my idle temps for my gpu are alright or safe. My gpu is a MSI gtx 970 100ME and it is idling at around 45 degrees. Are temps good or bad?

Solution

Overclocking runs your GPU higher than normal and that leads to more heat. Those temps are normal and I wouldn't worry about it.

Well my pc is new, I barely built it. But when I play games it gets to around 65. But having my gpu at 45 degrees at idle affect my gpu?

45 is completely okay. If your idle temps get between 50-60 then I'd look into cleaning your pc or investing in an intercooler. GPU's and CPU's run at higher temps while idling (which is why they are the components with heat sinks and fans) so it should be fine. Is it overclocked in any way?
