So i decided yesterday to give my self a nice birthday present.
So i bought myself a msi gtx 970 gaming edition.
And i have to say I love it!!!!

It comes in a nice box with a nice mouse pad in it.

When i game home i could not wait to build it in my system.
After putting it in my system of course i started a benchmark to see what it did.

so the next score is firestrike with cpu (i7 2600k ) at 4.4ghz and the card stock.

After that i tryed to see what it would do in overclock but because it was late i diddent see wat the max was, but just a quick overclock.

These are the settings that is set in msi afterburner.

voltage +75
powerlimit max +110
coreclock +160
memory clock +300
fanspeed auto

And i set the cpu to 4.5ghz and run firestrike again.

max temp according gpu-z 69 degrees
fanspeed 55% AND quit

So a quick overclock from 1114mhz on the core to 1274mhz is very impressive.

So i,m very happy with the card and i will look today what the max overclock is on this card.
If you whant to see a different benchmark please tell my and i run it.

Yah I went for the MSI, I took ages to decide if I wanted the MSI or ASUS, but by the time I had decided on ASUS it was out of stock until early next month. And the MSI overclocks better, so I'm happy. :)
How is the noise? Any coil whine?

I don't have any problems with the noise, I have 2x140 mm fans in the front the are running around 1100rpm and the are Quit but the make more noise then the card on 55% fan speed, of course when idle the fans of the card don't spin.
No coil whine.

So like i say i would try i higher overclock so i did and i even dont now if this is the max.

I set in msi afterburner the next settings'

core voltage + 87 is the max.
power limit max +110
core clock +180
memory clock +400

And i started 3d mark 11.

I'm also the very happy owner of a MSI GTX970 Gaming G4. I immediately added +500 to the RAM, so it's now at 8000Mhz and running perfectly fine. Not yet clocked the GPU. No coil whine to speak of, very very quiet under load, silent of course when not under load. Keep us updated on your clocking results Mastergup please.

It's beautifully quiet under all conditions, even using Furmark. Idle it's 28c, max under load I've seen so far is 66c. I haven't changed any of the default fan settings either. Noise, or lack of, is important to me. I've always loved my Be Quiet Dark Power Pro as it's been the basis of a very quiet PC. I'm delighted with this MSI GTX970 as it hasn't changed the "tone" of my PC in any way.

okey a small test again.

+185 on the core and +400 on the mem 3d 11 crasht at the 4th graphic test.
+180 on the core and +450 was totally fine.

my msi afterburner settings where

voltage +87
powerlimit +110
core clock +180
memory clock +450
fan speed set to 70% and damm still cant here it.
temp was 55 degrees celsius.

so i think i come close to the end, maybe higher core clock and lower on the memory but i think both set this is about the max for mine, still very, very impressive.

Hope that i could help sombody to make a choice to witch gtx 970 to chose, for me its msi and happy with it.

my test system is

i7 2600k (so no pci-e 3.0) at 4.5ghz
corsair h100
asus maximus iv gen-z/gen3
16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz
msi gtx 970 gaming.
xfx 750w pro.
corsair 730t case.

Try to separate your testing mastergup, find your max RAM while Furmarking before clocking your GPU. +500 on your RAM should be easy done as I have with mine, with more to come probably. Thanks for your information, I'm sure it will be a great help to many 970 owners.

Maybe but i diddent make this tread to see what the max is, its just to show you guys that it is a great card.
what i read on different sites is that it is about the max
the 1 the used at guru3d did +185/+500.

For now i leave it at this, even at this speed and with now problem playing bf 4 at 1275 on the core and 1900mhz on the memory i find it oke.
its nice for the benchmarks, but then i have to set my cpu higher also, this tread was just made as info on the very good msi gtx 970.

Alex let me now what yours will do, and have fun with it.

Oke for Alex and for tony roma i did my last test.
i runned 3d 11 again, but for some reason it scored lower then the 1 before.
the lower score comes true the physics score.

As you can see in gpu-z tab sensors i set everything to max but the fanspeed i set myself to 70% so this is not on auto.

the core clock is set to +180 (1294mhz)
And the memory clock is set to +500 (2000mhz) pfffff unreal.

That looks impressive mastergup, that will be helpful to others wishing to clock their GTX970 too. I hope you're enjoying learning from your clocking experience. I'll let you know how I get on with mine later. Thanks for your time and feedback.

for the people how want to now.
i just played battlefield 4 with the cpu at 4.2ghz
i played the map Golmud railway 24/7 madness 1000 tickets, and the card was running at stock speeds.
i recorded with fraps
max temps where 63 degrees celsius with fan speed auto max fanspeed is then 42% and rpm of the fan is then 966rpm

the min/max/avg fps is
