I use two display but even when I unplug it, it still idles at 60c with default settings. I either HAVE to use the fan (removing the 0db feature) or have to do a higher fan speed. Is it bad case cooling or do I have a faulty product?
Just as importantly if you are using Afterburner make sure that you are on the latest version available from Guru3D
I get my versions from MSI's website. A little more legit lol
Actually, Guru3d is the more legitimate of the two. Afterburner is based on Rivatuner, which has been hosted by Guru3d for probably the last 15 years. Unwinder, the creator of Rivatuner and Afterburner, is a regular on the Guru3d forums. In general, Guru3d is going to always have the most up to date version and a more active and lively community discussion surrounding the application. Both download sites will work fine and should have the latest version available.
with the fan off, that seems about right. At two displays the card stays at about 1000mhz. Try turning the fans on to something like 3-5%. You still cant hear this, but the little bit of fan movement should be enough to keep it down to the 40s.
Update: didnt see the part where you said you tried unplugging one display. What is your case setup like?
the cards downclock at idle to save power and reduce heat. It will increase the clock as power is needed, hence the spikes. Turn the fans to 10%, do the temps improve?

It automatically put the fans to 5% right now. Not going to improve much dude, I don't want a card that doesn't do what it says. Should I return this card or is it my case?
50-60 degrees is a normal idle temperature with the fans off. mine runs around there with the fans off.
Try one last thing. In the Nvidia control panel under Manage 3D settings, set Power management mode to adaptive. I searched some other threads and people said this helped a little bit.
If that doesnt give you the results you want, then you might want to email MSI support.

I'm glad that you got it working by rolling back your drivers, but I'm leaning towards it being a faulty installation in the first place. I'm thinking it would have fixed itself by just reinstalling those 344.75s. Is that PhysX checkbox on GPU-Z filled in now with your new installation? All the same, the difference between the 344.75s and 344.65 is minimal.

No I reinstalled drivers 3 times since the problem started. Also no, I had to install PhysX separately after.
If you have the Gaming model then your GPU should be getting warm at idle with the 0db fan profile built into the cooling. The fans don't even turn on until it his 65C so that is completely normal.

Hi, check back with gpu-z frequencies, you will see are lower in idle.
When reinstalling drivers use highly DDU, this eliminates any profile that has happened.
I found this thread by a problem like yours, I had changed the power management on my nvidia panel. I put it in adaptive and again after restart everything to normal.
