MSI GTX 970 no longer recognized by computer

I was gaming last night when my wifi went down so i restarted my computer. As my computer was turned off i wanted to switch my DVI cable for an HDMI cable that i had. Once i switch, my screens wouldn't show a signal. So i switched back to DVI and still no signal. I plugged right into the mother board (MSI Z97 gaming 5) and got a signal. My graphic card does not show that is plugged into my computer anymore. The fans will spin but it is still not seen by the computer.

It looks like the card may have died but can you try it in a different computer or another card in yours since it can be motherboard problem as well?
