Hello all, this is my first build. First I set up all the components and installed windows. Everything is fine. Now I am installing my GPU, I noticed that the Msi Gtx 970 uses a 8 pin and a 6 pin for the power supply. My problem is that my CX500M only has a 6 pin and a 2 pin, and a 6pin and a 2pin on the same cable. The GPU does come with a 6pin to 8pin adapter. I am confused and not sure on what to do. I picked out the parts on PcPartpicker, and it was all listed as compatible. This is the last stage to my build as in hardware, I still have to install drivers. Please take a look into this, I really want to play and use my PC as soon as possible. I have attached a couple of pictures

First one is the cables, 2nd is the 6 to 8 pin adapter, and last is the graphics card's power

No worries. The correct specification is 6+2pin equaling either a 6pin or a 8pin depending upon the needs. Hence, the CX500M could power a 2x8pin graphics card.

Now, you need to combine one of the connectors to an 8pin. There should be a simple lock mechanism if you look carefully. And voilia, there you go.
