msi gtx 970..

Solution

It is fine. Just check if you have a 6 pin and a 8 pin power connection on your psu, and if you do, you can run the msi gtx 970.

if its 520 watt it will handle it for sure the minimum requirement for the gtx 970 is 500 watt, but you really should upgrade your PSU if you want that card to last for a very long period of time i would recommend a 600 watt PSU

do you think it will harm the gpu/cpu ? im not sure if it will work because the minimum is 12v current rating of 42 A in the gtx 970 and I only got 33 A.

no, it will be fine, and i even bet you that the proper connectors will with the card mine came with it. 42Amps would be PEAk Amps thats like turning your speakers up all the way and keeping them there that wont happen those are only spikes in the worst case, and will not harm your system.

yeah, but if he wants to know rather he can run the card after he invested in a 970 card, he's prolly not wanting to worry about it, having more power is always a " good idea " i agree with you, i dont agree with

[quote/ "sizzler: But with such an unknown brand PSU can you trust the spec or what the PSU will do if you get close to its rated max.

I personally wouldn't risk my system on it"\quote]

cause it wont quote on quote break his system. ;)
