Hi chaps,

Running Windows 10 64-bit here on a Dell Optiplex 790 PC.

I have just installed a second-hand MSI GTX 1050TI. I use an old TV connected to the graphics card via the Display Port connector. When I am using a media player, MAME or a web site such as YouTube there is no sound coming from the TV's speakers, but I do hear sound when I play Elite Dangerous on Steam. If I start some music playing then run Elite the music is audible while Elite is running. As soon as I quit Elite the music can not be heard.

In Windows 10's sound menus I can see that audio is being routed to the TV on the Sound Settings Master Volume VU meter.

Simply put: No HD Audio sound from media players, web browser, MAME, etc. but there is sound from Elite Dangerous and from other software when Elite Dangerous is running.

Any help to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

Hi Chaps,

I think I've solved it.

I searched a few other discussion forums regarding similar problems on other graphics cards.

It is all to do with the screen resolution. I altered the resolution and audio came blasting out from the TV speakers. Yesss!
