I just got finished building my first pc. After installing everything it worked fine for about an hour. After clicking on a YouTube video the computer shut itself off and rebooted by itself. Once it rebooted the CPU ez debug led light was on. I’m trying to figure out if i should send back the CPU or the motherboard. Any suggestions

Build:
Intel i3 6100
MSI H110M gaming micro atx
8Gb DDR4 memory
Zotax GeForce GTX 1050 ti
Silverstone 300W

Solution
Next suggestion would be to take the system to a Mom and Pop computer shop and have them test it with a different power supply (both with and without the graphics card installed).

It m ight just be something simple. Any idea what the debug LED fault is saying..CPU? Memory? etc... also it is alwasy good to do a quick bench test to see what temps you are hitting at load to rule out the CPU cooler not being installed properly...

From a website I respect (https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-for-graphics-cards-20):

"GeForce GTX 1050ti - 18A and a 350W psu minimum"

So yeah, a new psu--and I'd be looking at a 450w, which I consider a baseline, minimum PSU these days.

The led stating that something is wrong with the CPU is lit. I cannot run any bench test because the screen wont display anything at all. Its not the monitor because it works with other devices

Would it really be the psu even though it ran fine for about an hour? Again i am new to this so sorry if im asking dumb questions.

I did this. The computer turns on fine but nothing comes on the screen.

How is the computer connected to the display (details please).

Its connected to the motherboard via a hdmi cable. There is only one hdmi port for me to try.

Does your display have other inputs you can try: DVI or VGA?

I'm hoping that if/when your power supply failed, it didn't take the motherboard with it. If you cannot test the other motherboard outputs, I would next try and find someone with either a spare power supply (400 watts or more) or someone that would be willing to test your system (with the graphics card installed) and their power supply.

The vga cable didnt work either. Sadly i do not have anyone that I could borrow parts from. The only other desktop in my house is an old dell but over 5 years old.

I went to an computer parts store and they diagnosed that the power supply was to weak to keep the computer running. I have a 650 watt power supply now and its working good. Thank you for youre help.
