Question msi h61m-p31/w8 motherboard turns on then off

My motherboard turns on then off after 3seconds cpu and other fans start spinning then turn off after 3sec.
My psu is fine iknow that. I have 3gb ram tried putting in the 2gb stick and the 1gb different times still same problem. Pc3 10600u ddr3 samsung i think this is the error. So im gonna get 2gb ram soon and try that

full system spec? include make and model of the psu

Its a brand new build most likely the ram problem cuz i had spare ram lying around for a long time.
I5 2300
Random old psu 300w iknow it works so yeh
No gpu installed yet
