Hi Guys,

This is my very first post here, I'm having a few issues with this MSI mother board, basically this mobo was not doing any sound at all when I tried to boot the Desktop.

After read a few bunch of forums I've tried already these troubleshooting steps ( by order ):

1- Unplug all the hardware components from the mother board.
2- Plug all components back in... try to boot - (no joy)
3- Remove one the ram slots and tried to boot - (no joy)
4- Tried the all ram slots with only 1 ram module ( this setup has 2x4GB DDR3 ) - ( no joy still won't post )
5- Removed all the ram slots - ( no joy no beeps after after power it on )
6 - Swap bios battery for a new battery and Repeated steps 4 and 5 - ( no joy )
7 - Clear CMOS and repeated step 4 and 5 again. ( no joy )
.......................................................................................................................................................
Until last steps I never had any change... but after lots of re-search I saw that a few people took the battery out for a few minutes some for a few hours... so:

8 - Remove Bios Battery for a 10 minutes plug back in and test without ram:
3 Short beeps and the mother board restarts.... again 3 Short beeps and the mother board restarts

After looking online:

AMI BIOS Beep Codes ( http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm )

3 short beeps - Base 64K memory failure - A memory failure has occurred in the first 64K of RAM. The RAM IC is probably bad

9 - After this stage I had nothing to loose so I restarted and repeated step 4 ( no joy motherboard won't post again )

After all this troubleshooting steps I still don't have any answer.

Since when I started to troubleshoot I was thinking that the issue was coming from the motherboard those troubleshooting steps now tell me that we have a few different possibilities:

1- The issue persist's with the motherboard and we have here damaged ram slots
2- We have 2 Broken Ram Modules ( weird stuff )
3- Something is missing me here and we still have something to try out ( that's my nirvana )

Any ideas?

By the way this is my setup:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K
Motherboard: MSI H77MA-G43
Ram: 8GB DDR3 ( 2x4GB DDR3 EVO CORSA DUAL CHANNEL PC3-14900 1866MHz )
Graphics Card: asus ENGTX560 DC/2DI/1GD5
Power Supplier: OCZ-ZS750W-EU

The i7 6700k is Skylake LGA1151 and not compatible with that board. Either you typed it wrong or there's your problem.

Ups sorry!!! you're right it's a Intel Core i7-3770K

It's already updated

Thanks

To be honest with you that step was something that I wasn't aware off. Any way I tried your tip and tested the PSU with the paper clip test and and the PSU fan works!

So the problem is not on the PSU and I'm pretty sure that it's not with the connections since I fallowed the Motherboard's manual.

So again I can only be related with a issue with the possibility of the ram modules are broken or an issue with motherboard 🙁

There should be two cables attached to the motherboard from the PSU.. the 4 pin and 24 pin power leads. Are they both connected, and properly seated in the slots? Have you tried restting CMOS again? Checked the cpu socket for bent/missing pins? It's unlikely to be the RAM slots themselves or RAM chips if they are both new but could be I guess.

Well no joy at all my friend

I've tried to reset the CMOS again no joy also check the cpu socket no issues found...
should be the motherboard that is dead 🙁
