MSI Hawk 6870 fan rpm and temp

Hello my gfx card fan keeps revving up and down every few seconds, also my gpu temp in msi Afterburner is 44C at idle

is this normal ? ive seen and read reviews that have lower gpu temps.

I would consider that temperature at idle to be "normal," given that most gfx cards can handle double that temperature under load. It's hot and dusty where I live so my gfx card, a 6950, idles at like 60C. I've just come to figure that temperature to be normal for me.
 
hmm i think it was other than that because the temp was 39C when i first got it last week and the fans on the card didnt spin up and down every few seconds

i just opened the case and tried moving some of the sata wires out the way and made sure the card is firmly in place.... the temp dropped back to 39C idle...turning on my two case fans made the temp drop to 38C idle but they are loud so i turned them off lol

the temps can get high ive read about it, the problem was the annoying sound of the graphics card fans speeding up and then slowing down...that has stopped now for the meantime anyway
