I recently built a new system with completely new components in July/August 2013. I have an MSI HD 7870GHz Card with 2 monitors connected to the card: one connected to the HDMI port, and the other connected to the DVI port. These are both brand new cables, so I know they are working fine. Before, they would both detect and display fine as they should.

System Specs:
Monitors: HP w2207 & HP w2207h
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
Video Card: MSI HD7870GHz
Hard Drive: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda
PSU: Cooler Master GX750W

But lately, only 1 of them displays (the monitor connected to the HDMI port), while the other one doesn't (the monitor connected to the DVI port). Last night, when one of the monitors stopped displaying, I received a BSOD at boot. Powered down and restarted the system, and only one of the monitors worked.

The video card is not overclocked or anything, and is still running factory settings. A couple of weeks ago when I took out my entire system and installed a new CPU cooler, the system did the exact same thing when I plugged my monitors into the video card. The video card is connected in the recommended PCI-e slot from the MSI manual and the drivers are up to date if I recall correctly. I removed the card and connected the monitors to the mobo and they worked fine. When I reconnected the card and monitors, they monitors started working again. Furthermore, I MemTested my system at the time and left it overnight, and it passed fine, so there is nothing wrong with the RAM.

Is this a sign of a possible defective video card? Thanks in advance!
