1. Model: MSI K9VGM-V
2. BIOS version: Unknown: Defult shipped with board
3. VGA source: Intergrated graphics
4. CPU type: AM2 Athlon X2 4200+ 90watt model
5. Memory type: DDR2 533mhz 1GB single module
6. Power supply type: non descript 240V, 24PIN ATX, 350watt supplied with case.
7. OS - Windows Vista Home Premium
8. Problem description: Purchased radeon x1300 256mb graphics card, set BIOS to PCI-express slot, installed card, nothing appeared on screen, no Bleeping from case speaker. Thought it was a fautly card so removed, nothing appeared on screen using intergrated graphics, assumed due to BIOS set to PCI-express card. shorted jumper JCLR1 with computer off and power supply dissconected, returned JCLR1 to defult position. plugged machine back in, no display but beeping from case speaker. Speaker was beeping once, 4 second pause, 2 long beeps. This pattern repated itself constantly. What does this sequence of beeps mean?

Your MB manual and/or MSI tech support website should be able to tell you what that "beep code" means.
Not sure if this is your problem, but no-name power supplies, especially low power ones like yours, often cause more problems than they are worth, especially when you add relatively power-hungry add-ons, like that graphics card. You can pick up a decent power supply for $50-60.

did you turn off the integrated graphics from setup ?
Turn the integrated graphics off from the setup then plug your Graphics card .....

good luck

I am having a similar issue with the same motherbaord. Trying to use an HIS 2600pro

onboard video works fine.
When I turn the machine on I start getting a ticking sound from the onboard speaker. It doesnt sound like a normal beep code. I get to quick ticks a slight pause and it repeats 6 to 7 times. Then it does it again. Then the machine will actually boot.

I cant use the pcie slot. Even telling bios to use pcie first wont work and there really isnt an option in theis bios to disble to onboard video. MSI's documentation on this board is totally subpar. (meaning absolutly nothing)
