MSI laptop checking media presence

My MSI laptop (GT72VR 6RD Dominator) says ">>Checking media presence... >>No media present. A few seconds later the screen goes to BIOS. There isn't a problem with boot order and I haven't dropped my computer at all to maybe damage the harddrive or other internal components. What do you think might be the problem? The computer doesn't have any malware, and I haven't tweaked with it.

Looks to me the Hard drive has died. HDD do not last forever. In my experience 5 to 10 years. This is why I image my system and backup my files.

Is it fixable? Do I need to replace it?

Replacement only option. Now days you could get 1Tb hdd for the price of a 500GB
