msi MAG X570 Tomahawk wifi with Ryzen 9 3900X https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI/Gallery
Assembled Jun 2021.
Display connected from day one on the onboard HDMI that comes with motherboard. Please see the Back Panel ports No. 9
Last month, disconnected the display lead and connected the display to laptop to check laptop port. Thereafter connected the HDMI lead of the display back to Motherboard. It stopped giving signal.
Tried reloading drivers, but no success.
For now, the display is connected to the HDMI port of the Graphics Card 1050Ti 4GB.
Could not find resolution on msi forum or msi customer care. msi not very helpful online and wants the machine to be carried to service centre. It is not possible for me to carry it and msi refused home service.
Machine otherwise is stable and robust. It had Win 10 Pro, upgraded to Win 11 Pro, all taken smoothly.
What can I do to help myself?

Solution
the 3900x does not have any built in graphics. this is what the onboard port would use to produce a signal. it should never have worked so no idea what was going on before.

seems like now though it is doing what it is supposed to. you should be connected to your 1050ti ports since that is what is outputting to the monitor.

again no clue what was going on before but you must have done some kind of temp magic if it was giving you a signal before with no igp to produce it.

:) Very interesting. And your help has come with that clear fact that it should not or can not work since the R9 3900X does not have any graphics.
And NO, No magic, but what you got me also to wonder how it should have worked?
My first build was back in 1985, a BBCmicro 32k. After that, I was completely out of touch from computers for almost 30+ yrs. My laptops were old and during pandemic, it was difficult to get repairs, or proper advise on what to buy. As a habit, I wanted to know what I need, so got studying and narrowed on affordability with a desktop. That took about 7 months. Then to finalise draft specs, I realised I may have to make life simpler and must be able to follow-up on the machine, so took a decision on msi which emerged as the top brand.
During my studies, it seems I read somewhere that I must try and use the onboard HDMI port and use it till as long as it would serve, but perhaps, it had a caveat which I don't recal, but I remember that the monitor and the graphic card must have an HDMI so I can switch from onboard to graphics card.
First, Thank you very much @Math Geek
next, as I wrote above, it may be difficult to get to that line of advise which I read on the internet. Tom's Hardware and pcparts were my principal guides for any "actuals", but I was reading for over 18 months :)
So let me look for it and I will lead you to see if an explanation can be given. It is only after you wrote here, that I vaguely recall the last minute freezing.
The computers and this world is a far far complex a subject and I was lucky I went through after all these years successfully. Otherwise, ask me to fly any fighter jet, by profession and at heart, I am one, love to be with geeks.

God Bless you @Math Geek
O am keeping this open to revert to you or that " someone" who too may have read the lines I did and could help us all for future. NEVER LEAVE THE ROOM WITH A DOUBT before or after a sortie.
