Hello.

I am going to be building a PC and my new motherboard came today. I opened the package to find a disk labelled 'Drivers and 'Utilities' and it tells me to insert this after I have installed Windows on my PC, however I do not have a disk drive. Furthermore, Windows 10 is currently installed on an SSD which I will be putting into my new PC. I am just wondering whether once the build is complete I can go and download all the drivers and utilities of the MSI website in one simple download, or do I need a disk drive?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but would this be the process?

1) Complete build, connect cables to motherboard I/O and power up.
2) Go into BIOS and select Operating System device (Samsung SSD).
3) The PC will boot up Windows like normal and connect to the internet via the Ethernet cable
4) Go onto the MSI website and download the latest drivers and utilities.
5) Happy days - my motherboard is now good to go at the best of its abilities?

Thank you very much!

dont need a disk drive

though downloading the msi driver needed to access the internet ie lan/wifi for your new board to a usb flash drive before starting would be a good idea

and usually the stuff on the motherboard disk is out of date any way

Okay, thank you very much.

So I will need to download the internet driver to a flash drive then once my new PC boots up, I should plug the USB in and install the drivers, then I will be able to access the internet via my LAN cable. From there I will be able to download the rest of the required drivers from the MSI website, correct?

Thanks :)
