[SOLVED] MSI motherboard not recognising GPU

Hello,

I've been browsing this forum for months now trying to solve my issue with my GPU. About 2-3 months ago, a friend and I were playing a game when the screen of my monitor went totally black and a second or so of the audio of the game repeated on a constant loop. I turned my PC off and rebooted to a black screen, but the GPU still powered its LED's up. At this point I'd only had my PC 2 weeks and there'd been no trouble up until this point. Since then, I have done everything to get the issue working again, but to no avail.

Firstly, BIOS doesn't recognise a GPU in any slot, (neither does the device manager), so I thought, "maybe it's a driver issue", so I reinstalled all my drivers, but no luck. I also checked for GPU sag, but this wasn't an issue. I then thought, "maybe it's the motherboard?", So I replaced the motherboard, and still no luck, (during this period, I have also reset BIOS and cleared CMOS multiple times but again, obviously, with no luck). I then took my GPU to be repaired only to be told there was no problem with it and it worked fine on three of the test stations in the repair shop. The final step was to replace my PSU, which I did, and surprise surprise, my GPU still doesn't work. I've spent a lot of money trying to solve this problem and I'm at my wits end, and at this point I'm considering selling the individual components and giving up with PC gaming.

My specs are;

Intel i5 8600K
Noctua NH-U9S CPU fan
MSI B360 Gaming Plus MoBo
Palit GTX 1070 Jetstream
16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM 2400 MHz
EVGA Supernova 750W G3

Any help anyone can give me would be hugely appreciated. I just don't know where else to go. Thank you for your valuable time.

Solution
The 16x PCIe controller is integrated in the CPU. Since motherboard, graphics card and power supply ruled out... all that remains is the CPU.

Could you go into a little more detail? I don’t understand why it could be a CPU issue. I’ve checked all the pins and there’s nothing bent on the CPU. Would an issue with the CPU account for the mid-game crash and inability to start up again?
