MSI Motherboards and AT&T Uverse

On a review on the MSI Titanium Z170, a review on here says he was having a problem with AT&T Uverse and the ethernet plugin. The user says his internet constantly gets disconnected but is fine on wiresless. Would this be a common problem on MSI boards or just a mishap?

I stay away from MSI due to poor QC, might look to the Hero from Asus
