Question MSI MPG B550 Gamming Plus motherboard memory compatibility

Hello everyone:
I am looking for memory with RGB for MSI MPG B550 Gamming Plus motherboard
If memory that is not listed in the motherboard manufacturer's QVL.
But instead on the memory manufacturer's website it is listed as compatible with that motherboard.
Should I only consider what MSI says?

A lot of memory will work even if not on the QVL list. You likely knew that.

But you can't know for sure without trying it. You have to take a chance to some extent.

Maybe buy only from a vendor that you know will allow returns without argument?
