[SOLVED] msi MPG x470 gaming plus, second 4pin need?

Hello there

Me and my friend built a system with a msi x470 gaming plus but our psu doesnt have a second 4pin for the cpu (our motherboard has a 8 and a 4 pin connector for the cpu). Is the second one optional or not? I ask this this question because the system isnt turning on with only the 8pin and we dont know why at this point

Page 12 in your manual shows the 4 pin should be connected.
I see nothing that says it is optional.

Yeah I've read that too. But some on some motherboards its optional but still in the manual you should connect. But thanks!

Yeah.....sometimes it is optional....but when there's a question....I go by the manual.
