MSI MPower Z87 or MSI Gaming 5 Z97

Hi guys, as mentioned above which one is better or has more benefits. I'm planing to buy the MPower Z87 because it's on sale right now and also it has a lot of features, nevertheless I kinda like the Z97 Gaming 5 from msi mainly because it's a Z97 board, but I'm really puzzled right now, so please help me choose or any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you

I would go with the Z87 if you're on a budget. The extra features you get from the Z97 are not worth the price I think. Unless you really want to get an M.2. type SSD. The other pro of the Z97 is that it takes slightly faster RAM memory, but RAM memory speed is really not that important. Z97 also allows for mSATA, but mSATA is really not that popular today (maybe in a future)

I would say the Z97 is just fancier. Yeah it is better, but do you need it?. You have to evaluate if it is worth paying more for the Z97. I personally think it isn't, but that's up to you.

Also what is your processor? cause depending on your processor it could be better for you to get the Z97.
