Wondering if PC-6400 would actually run at that speed or would it go to the PC-5300 specs. No use of getting the 6400 if it just going to be used at 5300.

No, the PC2-6400 will run at 800MHz which is the effective clock rate of PC2-6400. It will not run at the speed of PC2-5300 unless both the speeds are mixed.

Your motherboard supports upto 4GB of memory. Your motherboard has 2 slots and max per slot is 2GB.
