I just bought an Acer XG270HU 27" I was thinking about buying a new graphics card in a month or two, any recommendations on a good graphics card that doesn't cost an insane amount of money ($600 being the most I would spend and im not even 100% certain on paying that much). Or do you think I can manage with my current graphics card? Thanks.

ps. I have 8gb of RAM and im thinking about going for 16GB is this overboard, or will it significantly improve my gameplay. I can post the rest of my specs if you think it will help.

A GTX 770 should be enough for today's games. However it will not be enough to push that monitor to it's max performance. If you really want 1440p 144Hz, then I would recommend you invest in a GTX 1080, 1080 ti, or one of the Vega cards. As for the RAM, 8GB is enough for nearly all of today's games. An upgrade to 16GB would not give a noticeable improvement in games, but it would allow you to run more programs in the background and help with multitasking, if that is something you do when you are gaming.
