MSI Nvidia Geforce ME GTX 960 fans not spinning

Here are my specs...

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-350t PC
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core i7-860 quad-core processor [2.8GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [4 DIMMs] from 6GB
1TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive from 640GB
Corsair 650 W

just got the card. installed it and when i started up my computer everything looked fine. Fans started to spin, logo illuminated. Then both fans shut off. they dont start spinning. Anyone have any ideas what may be wrong?

Which model do you have, MSI and Asus models are designed to have the fans off until the temp exceeds 60c

I was playing a game(just cause 2) for 5 mins and the fans never came on. I turned it off right after because i was worried the card would over heat

Download MSI Afterburner to monitor the video cards temps. My GTX 970's fans won't come on during half the games I play because they aren't getting hot enough.

I believe all the GTX 960 models made by MSI have the fans off until 60c with the exception of this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127842&cm_re=MSI_GTX_960-_-14-127-842-_-Product which has the fan on all the time.

Ok so it looks like when i hit 60c and the fans started to spin. Pheew. i thought my card was bad. Thanks!

No prob, there have been a lot of people asking about this same subject. Nvidia's Maxwell architecture is so power efficient, that some models have the fans turn off completely to extend fan life and give you a totally silent experience.
