MSI P965 Platinum is garbage despite having "Editor Choice Award" from Tom's Hardware guide. I hope Tom's hardware got paid well from MSI on this deal to make it worthwhile ruining their reputation.

Sotck for stock it is a good baord against the rest. The problem lies in the overclocking ability. Now that is a joke. I can only oc my e6400 to 2.8 (350mhz fsb) and have it pass orthos. I bought Crucial ballistix pc6400 and thought I should be able to do a stable 900mhz at 4-4-4-12. Needless to say, not with this board. Let me make a correction. I can run 900mhz at 4-4-4-12 but at the stock 266/800 ratio. when I go to 266/667 it won't boot.

I had alot of issues with geting this MB set up and am now having great sucess OCing with it. However i chose to run the PD 915 so my FSB is much lower (200 stock with 14X) so runing this to over 260 fsb has worked out well for me. A $100 chip runing at 3.6GHz aint to shaby in my book atleast.
Keep mucking with your mem latencys and SLOWLY increase the FSB i played it safe with the mem and ran

Change that make sure its stable then go back in and get the fsb pumped up
