I just wanted to ask what is the max oc you have reached using the msi p965 platinum mobo with the E6400. Please provide settings.
I have managed to reach at 350 fsb with +0.375v at cpu and 2.05 at ram making them 533mhz. I am sure it can go further as it was rock solid until that speeds.Havent tried to further yet

I do, but I haven't pushed it past 300. I'm having trouble with my CPU hitting 60-70C at default voltage and FSB settings. I use a Zalman S9500 heatsink, and yes it's properly mounted, so I'm really quite clueless as to the issue. I'm going to replace some parts like the CPU and see if I get similar readings.

I cannot really get mine stable over 350mhz. I have tried everything I know how but it fails everest consistently. Still waiting for the magicl bios that will fix all of my problems. Either that or I am getting a new board.

366mhz max here too after hours of tweaking..

E6400 @338 = 2704. The best I can manage w/ Orthos stability. :-(

I exepected much more out of this board. Still hoping for BIOS revision that will fix it.

I suspect it may be a NB heat problem hence the 'limited Ed' version that has appeared with a heatpipe solution. Maybe I'll try a Zalman NB heatsink and see what happens.

at 360fsb with +0.05?(three times the plus sign) voltage at cpu, +0.2(two times the plus sign)? at mb and ram 533mhz at 2.1 the system worked perfectly stable. With these settings could get up to 374fsb but some instability problems. By the way i haven`t disabled anything like speedstep or virtualization. Except the C1E.
E6400@360 = 2880 and at 374 = 2992

I am going to try and find the settings so it can work stable at 3ghz.
Because i am new to c2d ocing i would really like to know witch are the safe voltages for cpu,mb and ram. When i was ocing the mobo stated that i was in the yellow margin.
I am asking this because in my old p4 prescott although that it stated as max voltage the 1.50, i used to work in ocing at 1.6 (was from 3ghz to normal 3.9 and sometimes up to 4.2)

Using Orthos, it seems to be a non-CPU issue @2.8 or above. It fails with the large memory tests every time. Thats what makes me think it's maybe a NB/mem issue, maybe cooling since I have DDR2 800 mem @ 533 1:1

I can OC up to 3ghz, but only 2.704 (338x8) totally stable. (6hrs orthos)

Interestingly, above 338, timings and voltages don't seem to make a great difference. Higher voltages allow a higher OC, but nothing stays stable.

I think it's down to MSI..
