Hi i wanted to ask about motherboard OverClocking i had a post about ram it didnt work at 3000mhz but 2133mhz i found out that it dont support that ram and now i want to ask for overclocking cpu and gpu i overclocked it slowly but after 3.5Ghz it went slower than stock and usage was 100% how do i overclock. And GPU MSI GTX 960 2g can someone help to overclock it? When i overclock it bit higher automaticly after while sets mhz lower and gets slower, after restart it is normal and stock.

First, the behavior you are describing sounds like thermal throttling, a process where if the CPU gets too hot it begins to reduce the core speed to reduce the thermal load on the CPU. If this is what is occurring then continued occurrences will eventually lead to damage to the CPU. So are you using a monitoring program when you overclocking to make sure that your CPU core temps are not too high?

Now overclocking basically involves pushing more electricity through an electric circuit than normal. This produces more heat the same way a stove element heats up when electricity is pushed through it. The second effect is that the stability of the electric current parameters are reduced and if it gets too much the system will crash. So you need to address the increased thermal load and the variances in the electric current.

In your build for oveclocking I see some issues. The first is that PRO-VDH is a basic mobo without much in the way of power stabilization features (power phases). You should not expect to see too much in the way of an overclock from this board.

The second issue is that I do not see an aftermarket CPU cooler. The 1200 comes the Wraith Stealth CPU cooler which is decent for normal use but doesn't cut it for overclocking.

The third is your PSU and this is critical. It unfortunately is a very poor PSU and actually is dangerous to your computer, especially if you are overclocking.

Good quality PSU's have overload protection circuits which prevent current from surging through the computer during a failure. Poor quality PSU's lack this protection and when they fail they often blow up some or all of the computer too.

As far as how to overclock there are many guides on the internet, here are but a few

I forgot to say that CPU at 100% usage when rendering video or doing something else was only 50C and GPU 65 Themeprature is not the problem. Thanks for answer i taked that motherboard and psu just because i didnt have much more money for it thanks, i think i will not overclock it
