Anandtech's latest:
However, we think that this board needs to mature a bit more before it turns into a board that will satisfy most enthusiasts. We feel similarly about the MSI K8T Neo2-FIR, which was somewhat a surprise as the socket 754 K8T Neo was a favorite. Our concern is based on the fact that we went through 3 K8T Neo2 boards before we got one that really worked. That may just be coincidence, but it raises concern about the quality assurance of this particular product.

Great, shipping charges for RMA's would cost as much as a new board. Selling December corn short: smart move! Sending three bad boards in a row to Anandtech for review: dumb move!

I sent 3 655 max boards back to msi for various problems. They finally sent me a brand new 865pe neo LS on the 4th try. Your concerns are valid. The new board works fine, and I have no complaints about msi's customer service.

I'm running an MSI 645DX board, and have never had any problems with it.

Maybe a bad batch of boards?
