People must be getting tired of seeing my on here, but I'm trying to figure out whats goin on...lol. I recently bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127544 for my old hp to gve it alittle of an upgrade. When I plugged the card my pc started the fans started going, light slit up but nothing popped up on my screen i did all of the things I was told to do with the integrated's drivers/switching it to the pci slot in the bios, everything, and it still didnt work. So I called msi tech and they said that it was mos tlikely the powersupply that i would need atleast a 350, so i bought a 400. It still didnt work. Then I got on here and read another guys thread where he had the exact same problem with a different card, and the guys that replied to it said that it was because of his card being a 2.1 even though the manufacturer put a 2.0 on the box or something. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is most likely the problem with mine? My computers psie slot is a 16 x 1 so could it be pssoible that the card is actually a 2.1 instead of 2.0 and that could be what the problem is? Hoping to figure this out before i just send it in for a replacement instead of a refund.

That is what most likely is the problem.

2.1 cards and 1.0 mobo's are backwards compatible but most of the time 2.1 cards are not compatible right out of the box.You have to download a BIOS update for the 1.0 slot. The only problem is HP among other companies discontinue or don't provide support for these issues's.

Sorry you had bad luck.I would just get a refund.

If I may, what are you planning to use this GPU for?

Well I was going to use it for a cheap hopefulyl short term upgrade to make playing wow alittle more bearable. I know it isnt recommened for gaming in alot of the reviews but I wasn't planning on maxxing the settings, maybe keeping them on fair, I'm used to playing on low anyways, and I've always used onboard graphics and having the fps just barely be bearable so that wasnt a big concernf or me, was just trying to squeeze alittle more fps out of the low/fair settings untill i could afford a whole other computer.
