Hello, yesterday as I was playing a quick game of hearthstone, I noticed these weird blue pixel boxes all across my screen. This never happened before and got me really worried. So, I turned down the graphics resolution from high to medium to low but the boxes stayed no matter what.

Later that day, after a hard reset, I tried to play WoW but the pixels were everywhere. I mean, the game is technically playable but as you can see in the pictures below, it is just horrible.

Attached are in-game photos of WoW and H1Z1 and some examples of when it was acting up on images I found on google images. However, I may add that the pixels rarely show up outside of games but do show up sometimes when watching videos.

What do you think could have caused this? It is not my monitor because I also play xbox on it and it was fine and upon first inspection of the problem I thought to unplug the monitor and the displayport cable but they stayed.

I searched on line and cant find the exact name of my problem or a similar case where boxes started showing up. I have tried cleaning the graphics card un-plugging it from one port and plugging it in the other. As well as re-installing the drivers but nothing has fixed the problem.

I have no final thoughts before calling MSI so I thought I might try out here as I have come here before for technical problems (mainly as a lurker) and found everyone to be extremely helpful.

Thank you for any insight you can give me into this problem!

I have an msi r9 280 non-x version

Solution
Well first thing that comes to mind is your card may be experiencing issues with its vram modules. Some things to try though is monitor your temps-what are they like at idle and under load? Perhaps it could be an overheating issue-hopefully some more experienced members can chime in as well
