MSI R9 280X crashes and goes black

When ever I play games, most times its fine no bother, other times I can make it crash reliably on demand on other games. It happens when the temperature hits 80-85 degrees C and the screen goes black, audio cuts out and fans stop spinning... Any ideas? Thanks

yep same thing here...card shuts off around there. How are you hitting temps so high though? I have 2 in crossfire and rarely get that high

No idea, the card is 2month old, and it's only the games that the screen crashes it hits so high... Playing World of Tanks sat in the garage, or playing Rome 2 or Stronghold 3. Playing other games the temp stays around the mid 60's.

Cooling isn't great in my pc only have 3 fans: 1-120mm intake and 1-90mm, 1-72mm exhaust fans

Has there been a resolution to this problem, I purchased an r9 msi 280x, works fine with general desktop jobs, so far when I start up sniper elite v3 after a few mins I get black screen or no signal?
