Msi r9 290x lightning crossfire

Okay so I have 2x msi lightning 290x in crossfire and an i7 4820k cpu overclocked to 4.6 ghz (water cooled).
My question is now its nearly 2018 they may be a bit dated so with the games coming out now and in the near future is it worth me upgrading? If so to what? I am not interested in gaming at 4k yet so its just 1080p really. I am just concerned with playing smoothly 60fps + on ultra settings.

i would imagine your current game play is quite smooth? keep in place what you have until you purchase a game that requires dialing back the eye candy.

yeah at the moment its smooth, although I havent used it for gaming in a while. I suppose im thinking more for future games like red dead 2 not knowing how they will perform with crossfire. Im hoping dx12 starts taking off and it becomes the standard soon. They do perform well in crossfire with dx12 games. Im also hoping descent games start coming out!
