It's a great card for 1080p high to ultra most games, passable for 1440p medium. Nvidia is overpriced worse at the low end than the high end performance wise. AMD for 1080p, Nvidia for 4K and a toss up leaning AMD for 1440p imo.

I've been looking for ages and mostly they're sold for $300, and if you're lucky to get it down to $290.
As for the RX 6600, its usually sold for 180-200 bucks, and the XT for 20-30 bucks more.

Sure, and I'm seeing the bulk of sold listings for RTX 3060 going for $280-$300. If you're going to use an aggressive "you won an auction at a great price" for Nvidia, do the same for AMD.

Average sold RTX 3060 on eBay over the past week: $290.33

Granted, Nvidia still outsold AMD 2.26 to 1.

I'm in the same boat. Been looking for a replacement for my 1060 and I would love to stay with Nvidia but the premium they're putting on RT and DLSS is too high for me.

About the cheapest 3060s that are working that are buy it now listings seem to be 260-270. Looks like the 6600 is closer to 100 less.

I'm in the same boat. Been looking for a replacement for my 1060 and I would love to stay with Nvidia but the premium they're putting on RT and DLSS is too high for me.

Just got forced out of that boat. Got a new PC 12700k and aiming to just use my 6gb 1060gtx until the new cards dropped next year. But unfortunately It was too much for the 2016 bought card and it died today. Have used just EVGA Nvidias for 10+ years but the price for the 3060s is just too high. The best I could find is a MSI GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Video Card AERO ITX 12G OC at Newegg for 335 (315 after rebate) but got the 6650xt for $250.

I was really hoping Intel would cut Arc prices for Black Friday to get to at least the AMD value range. Although I think they need to target a little cheaper than AMD.

People talking about the RTX 3060 forgot it's just a rebranded 2060 Super? IMO anyone looking into 1080p/60fps would be fool to spend more than $200 right now on a GPU or RT gimmick. The RX 6800 at around $400 is where I see true value, a 4K/60fps card that also plays any game over 120fps with scaled down res and has around the same RT performamce as a 3060 if I'm not mistaken, that's the true "hidden" gem this generation. Wake me up two years from now when when AMD release a 4090 level card around $600 and we may call that the end game GPU. It will take at least 15 years until a 4090 isnt able to play a game at around 1080p/60fps really, and by then everyone here will be done gaming

Intel Arc keeps selling out (at Newegg), though I suspect it’s lack of support rather than high demand. Also, the chips are relatively large and I think Intel is likely close to selling at cost right now.

I get what you’re trying to say, but “rebranded” is the wrong word. 3060 is a completely new architecture and chip. It can’t be a “rebrand.”

Also, its performance lands between the RTX 2070 and the 2070 Super. And it has 12GB of memory instead of 8GB. In terms of generational upgrades, I’ve always felt the 3060 was the biggest jump over the 2060. Double the VRAM and a decent jump in compute for the same (slightly lower) launch price? It’s 25-45% faster, depending on the game and settings you run.

Of course the problem is that it has almost never been available at a price even remotely close to MSRP. Even at $400, it’s still faster than the previous generation 2060 Super and 2070… but it’s not a revolution.
