MSI RX570 lights up, no display or fans

I shut my PC down to go out of town the other day (I usually leave it running). When I returned and went to turn it on, the fans were all spinning but would not give me display or call the HD. I did a process of elimination and upon changing out the GPU, I got display. The GPU is an MSI RX570 Gaming 8GB and is not very old. I have yet to try it in another PC but every other GPU will boot in the PC other than the RX570. How can a GPU just kill itself while the PC is off?

I had this happen recently and I was just about to do a fresh Windows install at the time anyways. It was with an rx480 and did fix it, but I didn't try reinstalling drivers because I needed a fresh install anyways

Can you connect display via motherboard? Uninstall the video drivers for the card, take it out restart computer, turn it off, put it back in and hope for the best.. You could reinstall the drivers first but it shouldn't matter. If that doesn't work then I have no idea. That should kind of refresh everything.

Shouldn't I get at least BIOS on my screen if it's a drive issue though? And wouldn't the card work in other PCs? I get no display at all, even BIOS on either PC using that card :/ I looked at when I bought it, it's 14 months old. Not that long for a gaming card, and it was off when it malfunctioned....

yeah it should work in another pc, not really sure at this point, maybe someone else will chime in.

Have tried using DDU to uninstall all drivers, to no avail... Tried it in another PC that currently has a 7870 in it, same thing. Nothing appears to be burnt on the card, the thermal paste is still good and if you let the PC run for a while the fans WILL start spinning. I can tell it is not booting to Windows though as my keyboard does not light up and the HDD LED does not flash. I know GPU's can fail but they usually do so while under a load.... This failed while the PC was off for two days. I have ordered a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX580 8GB, I have always bought ONLY Sapphire cards and even my old 5750 is still working to this day! Will never buy a different brand of AMD card again, although I would still like to find out what went wrong with this MSI. Is there anywhere I could send it to be repaired?
