Question MSI SLI HB Bridge on a single card

I recently acquired an MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X TRIO and it came with the SLI HB Bridge. What would happen if I plugged one end of the bridge on the card and left the other end of the bridge not connected... Since I only have the one 1080ti. Will this break anything? Will it still light up? I was hoping it would light up solely for the purpose of being eye candy.

It probably only lights up to show that the bridge is active (ie connected to another GPU).

It turns out that the HB Bridge lights up even though connected to 1 GPU. However, you cannot customize the lighting effects since MSI's Gaming App doesn't recognize it being attached for lack of the secondary GPU. It serves its purpose of being an extra piece of eye candy in the case.
