Info MSI Tomahawk B450 and IEEE 1394 Devices

Solved a multiple blue screens of death problem connecting a Firewire DAC to my repurposed W11 gaming machine. Tomahawk B450, Ryzen-7 2700, 16G DDR4 RAM. Found a tip on Reddit about how to do it, but nothing specific. I was about to give up on the machine. I was putting a generic, inexpensive IEEE1394 card into a pci-e X1 slot -- blue screen of death. Tried putting it into the longer pci-e slot, same problem. The same card, with the same driver, worked fine in a different W11 computer, so clearly a problem with THIS machine. The fix was non-obvious at least to me: Go into BIOS/ADVANCED PCI configuration. Change PCI-E1 GEN SWITCH and CHIPSET GEN SWITCH from AUTO to GEN2. Problem solved.
