MSI Twin Frozr III R7870 OC heat and noise problems!

When I run BF3 with my MSI R7870 it is so loud and it is very hot! Is this my case? I have some cooler master that cost me 20 quid that i got a year ago, it only has 1 fan which is over the cpu... I touched the side of my case when i was running bf3 and it was boiling! I'm having to keep it off for the moment, but it's still very loud. Please Help!

When metal reaches its boiling point, you know there's something wrong with the cooler. 😀

You should have more fans in your case. There should be at least an intake at the front and a exhaust at the rear. Adding a fan to the side and top helps airflow too.

Sounds like you only have one fan in your case, and it is your CPU fan. You can't be serious?!?

His graphics card has 2 fans, his power supply has one, so he has at least 4 in his computer.

LOL you cant be serious... you should have at least one intake fan and one exhaust fan on any computer case. If you seriously have a fully enclosed case and there is no fresh air going into the case, the heat is completely contained within the case. This is common sense!!! there always need to be an intake fan and an exhaust fan, I had an 7 year old HP pavilion that had both, and it was no way a performance or gaming case, it was the stock pavilion case.

So my suggestion, GET A NEW CASE... with at least one intake and one exhaust... there are plenty of case reviews and comparisons on Tomshardware.

Not true at all, my computer doesn't have any case fans and it runs fine at load.

Which case is it?

As others have suggested, you need more case fans. You may be able to add a couple to your case, or if you have no mounting points you may need to move over to a new case.

Thx to you all, I was thinking of getting a new case anyway, a NZXT Phantom, looks pretty cool and it comes with a bunch of fans, so I'll problably get that!😀

You won't regret it. You should have at least 3 case fans, and most NZXTs come with 4. You'll keep everything nice and cool.

this is my spec of pc and the system shuts down or cuts of during game play was fine till i installed new hard drive and far cry 3 / crysis 3 now pc crashes and fans go crazy in game after 30 mins depending on game tested both cpu and gpu with bench marks and come back fine only happens when playing games is it my psu as its not a branded make but has 2 12v rails
