hey! i've seen a lot of thread about this topic but i think they're all outdated (way back 2014-2015) so i'm opening this topic again since that we already have 7th generation components ,

i used to use MSi components for desktop but i still have this ASUS ROG Laptop, I'm not doing some kind of torture test so i can't say how's the durability of both Brands, i need your opinions about this guys, i'm about to build my 7th generation rig 2 months from now. thanks in advance.

MSI is cheaper generally. Asus is a huge company, and quite a reputation to live up to, and all the hardware i have from asus has worked flawlessly, but they seem to price their stuff a little higher, but you're pretty much guaranteed that both will work. As InvalidError pointed out, it basically comes down to preference, and which company provides most peace of mind. But remember to buy according to YOUR needs, and not internet hype/bias. Do your research, and I'm sure you will be happy with whichever you choose in the end.
Between two boards in a similar price range and feature set, everything is usually within spitting distance from one manufacturer to the other and it boils down to personal preferences as most of the performance-critical stuff is integrated in the CPU and chipset.
