[SOLVED] MSI vs Zotac Mini ( RTX 2070)

My order on the MSI was delayed for two weeks. Is it worth waiting for? Other than cooling (Im assuming), what are difference in performance?

Its nice that the Zotac has DVI-D input

Well the MSI Armor card is the entry level MSI brand so the cooling won’t be all that much better. Unless you just absolutely want to get every single MHz possible you won’t notice a real difference. Maybe ~5 FPS

Isnt the MHz the same? "Boost: 1620 MHz"

At stock frequencies yes. But the way nvidia cards boost and hold clock speeds is very dependent on temperature so the msi card might have slightly better temps and hold slightly higher clocks. Also smaller PCB’s might not have as good power delivery as larger ones but like i said the difference will be very small. The actual clock speeds you see will not reflect the specs. My 1080ti says 1632 boost clock but actually it boosts to 1897 without touching the OC.

Thank you for answering. If you were guesstimate, what is the percentage difference in performance? 5 fps in some games is nothing, but it others its quite the difference, especially at greater resolutions

They should perform very similarly to each other. The armor is the entry level MSI card so it’s not like it has a high end cooler or anything else. If you just can’t wait the Zotac card will be fine. But what is a week or two wait for something you’ll probably have for a year or two.

I had already waited 3 weeks when they pushed it back 2 more weeks. The new delivery date isnt confirmed either. They might push it further again

Any thoughts on this one?

The Dual series is ASUS’s entry level card as well. But in my opinion ASUS is one of the best manufacturers and I’d take it over Zotac and MSI.
