MSI warranty problem

I purchased MSI Cubi2 i7-7500U desktop computer early 2017 thinking that it comes with 3 years warranty based on the Canada Computers page info. After little more than a year of usage, the computer started freezing during boot at MSI logo. Tested the Samsung SSD and RAM on another computer, which worked great passing memtest etc.. When I contacted MSI support, I was told that the computer has only one year warranty, which is over. What's weird is that many websites who sell the computer show 3 years warranty. I checked MSI website and warranty paper, which do show only 12 months warranty.
A lesson to everyone, check the website info and do proper research, and never trust the internet. But I still find it weird that MSI doesn't check these high profile online stores for such critical info. Surely other people who bought Cubi desktops got deceive by this info as well. If anyone has good ideas how to deal with this issue please let me know. Many thanks.

I would probably pursue the issue with the seller, particularly if you can find evidence of their error (especially if it's still current!). MSI has their terms, but the seller screwed up and misrepresented the item.

Unfortunately, you don't have much traction anymore except legal threats... maybe small claims? It's something you'd have to consider carefully, though. I'd also look at relevant consumer law.

That's what I'm doing. The seller is trying to get me in contact with their RMA department, who's supposed to call me, but never do for the last few weeks. But what do you think about other sellers like Amazon and Staples who also show 3 years warranty?

I think that there has been a miscommunication somewhere.

Are you certain it's the same model # they show? Often different stores will be off by all of one digit as a way to avoid price matching.

Having worked at StaplesCan for some time, a screwup certainly is a possibility.
