Will I have update the BIOS of a MSI - X370 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX AM4 Motherboard in order to use a Ryzen 5 2600x? And is it possible to know the bios version of the mobo before I buy it? This would really help, thanks!

Answer to question one. Maybe. It depends on the BIOS you have now.
BIOS upgrades came out to support newer processors. See link below.

If it were me, I'd upgrade to the latest BIOS because it's the safest thing to do.

Hi jay, I would but I dont actually have the mobo, it's just something I am planning to get. I just want to see if I would have to update the BIOS without an additional CPU, since I assume I won't be able to boot it up with the Ryzen until the BIOS are updated? Do you have a solution?

no you need to update the bios, you ask the store to flash it for you or just buy a x470 motherboard, so u dont need to go through that trouble.

yea... i just decided to change to an X470
