Brand new build
MSI x470 Gaming MB
32 g Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000mhz RAM
Corsair RM850x PSU
Sandisk 512 SSD
Ryzen 7 2700 CPU

Everything boots up, but the little indicator light to the right of the CPU stays on, I found it says VGA, so I switch the card around to different PCI slots, same result.
I switch out different cards, MSI, Radion, PNY, nothing
I clear CMOS, nothing.
My monitor still gets no signal.
Do i have a crap MB?

Solution

You certainly want a x470 board. Value for money wise I would probably go with this ASRock,

I have tried all the slots.
I get the sneaking suspicion MSI rushed this board out without the proper BIOS. Now I have to go thru the process of finding a way to update the BIOS when I cant even get a boot
If this is true, shame on MSI

I'm guessing your PSU has known working PCIe power 6 pin connectors. I can't imagine MSI shipping out a product with incomplete software like that, it's a pretty huge mistake if they did this and it would be all over the hardware news. I would be more inclined to think that you maybe got a board with a bad PCIe controller IC. Can you RMA?

RMA is in the works. Any suggestions on the best board to go with the RYZEN 7 2700?

I had the same issue. My vega 64 was working fine, then I installed an additional graphics card - rx580. Got into windows but everything started freezing so I restarted and that's when it happened. System would boot but NO display what's so ever. I took out the additional graphics card and rebooted.....still nothing. Tried 3 other graphics cards and still nothing. I kept clearing CMOS, resting changing out graphics cards for a few hours then gave up. The next day put back the vega 64 for like the 10th time and it started working again. Have no clue as to what or why it happened but in the end it started working again.
