Hello,

I own a MSI motherboard and is was wondering if it necessary to connect the 2 power connections at the mobo?
I have a CPU_PWR1 connection (8pin) and a CPU_PWR2 connection (4pin).
Currently i only have connnected the CPU_PWR1 (8pin) connection.
Do i need to connect the PWR2 (4pin) connection also?
I can't find this in the manual if it also needs to be connected...
As i mentioned it's currently connected with the PWR1 (8pin) and it's working, but i don't know if this could creat any sort of problems?

This is the setup i use;

The additional 4 PIN connector is for extra power, so if you are not overclocking or running more than 1 GPU then just using the 8 PIN will be fine.

However if you have the extra lead on your PSU i would advise you have it plugged in, so the extra power is there if they system needs it.
