I've just recently purchased a Ryzen 5 3600 combo'd with the MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi.
I did update the BIOS to the latest version (release date of July 2), but even then there's many missing features and bootups are EXTREMELY slow.
Ive never purchased a mb in the first week of its release and so I'm wondering if this is normal and if there is likely an updated BIOS on the way.
Any words of wisdom appreciated!

**Missing features includes the lack of a logo appearing on bootup, which I found strange.

That is very strange.

However, early adoption problems vary, and you should see fairly frequent BIOS updates over the next little while.

What are you booting from? How slow is "EXTREMELY slow"? Is this a fresh Os install?
Booting from a 250GB Western Digital SSD, with plenty of spare space. It takes about 3 minutes to boot, while on my old AM3+ board it took maybe 30 seconds. It is not a fresh OS install.

Almost certainly your problem right there, assuming you just disconnected from AM3 and tried to boot in on an X570 board.
Did a fresh install, problems persist. Albeit it's not much of a problem, just seemed weird that such a new board would take longer to boot than my older one, and have very little options for OC. Hopefully the next BIOS release resolves these tiny imperfections.
