I have a MSI x570 Gaming edge wifi plus motherboard and a phanteks p400a case.

Any microphones i plug in with a dual mic/headphone Y splitter emits a terrible hissing/static noise. I have tried using apple headphones and also turtle beaches i have for my Xbox.

I've tried pretty much everything from updating drivers to troubleshooting everywhere. and nothing has worked. I think it could be either the Y splitter or the headphones im not sure this is my first PC build.

Note: I can hear my voice when testing my mic in discord when im almost yelling into the mic, but its like terrible noise that fades in and out still constanly playing. Im getting a new microphones soon and hopefully it works because i have absolutley no clue what to do.

Edit: I also get full audio when plugging the headphones into my monitor. But no audio when plugged in just to the headphone jack on the front panel, and the back panel. Even with nothing plugged in at all I can still see the sounds going up and down when testing the microphone on discord, with nothing plugged in.

Fixed it with getting a USB to microphone adapter!
