Ok, I've googled and see lots of people have issues with this but I haven't found a true answer that has worked for me.

I have a MSI Z170A Carbon motherboard, if I enable XMP the computer will not boot and says it fails and returns to the bios screen.

The memory I have is Adata 2800-DDR4 2OZ. I have 2 of these 8gb chips in slot 1 and 3.

Looking at CPUZ it says the timings is 17,17,17,36 at 1.2volts. I put these in the overclock screen and reboot and it still says the DRAM freq is 1066mhz in CPUZ.

CPU is a i7-6700k

Looking at CPUZ it says the memory should run at 1400mhz in XMP mode? Am I reading the CPUZ screens incorrectly?

Thanks for any help and advice.
