I know there are other fourms on this, but they didn't really help me much.

My case is a corsair spec-alpha (Black & Red) and the Msi motherboard looks like it goes GREAT with this case. The asus one looks like it had the same good features and I keep hearing that Asus is the better brand for Motherboards and, the asus motherboard still looks good, but not as good as Msi's.

So, which one should I choose?

That MSi is a good board, so, if it has all required features, go for it. Though, i have to ask, why are you getting a z170 if you're not going to overclock and dont need SLI, seeing as you're going AMD?

h170. has all the features of the z170 except the ones you don't need(it has m.2 PCIE for example) and is cheaper.
though i've found that the h170 variant of your preferred board( https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/H170-GAMING-M3.html#hero-overview ) is't that much cheaper on pc part picker. Choose depending on what teh prices are where you'll buy. The h170 will serve you nicely.

Do MSI still have QC issues? I've heard that's a thing of the bast and that they've been doing very well since they also started making top notch video cards.

If it really is so, the ASUS H170 PRO GAMING would also go with OP's build very well, considering he's not going to oveclock(non-k cpu).
