Question MSI Z170A GAMING M7

I bought this board second hand. It works perfectly if I start it with the power button on the motherboard. The power switch on the case is also fine ,checked it with a multimeter but shorting the motherboard pins does not work. Has anyone any idea how this can be or are there alternative places on the motherboard I can connect my case power button to?

No takers? Well then can someone tell me what circuit is completed when the power pins are shorted@

Ask MSI support, I doubt anyone but their engineers knows the answer.
